The first bikes should be out now? Has the release date slipped? Anyone seen info on anyone getting one yet?
-
No word yet. You would think thevfirst delivery would be a good PR oppertunity. Have not heard of a delay.
-
I talked with sales yesterday. They are working on the DOT certification and will begin shipping as soon as that is complete. They expected another week or two before it is done.
-
Thanks for the update!
-
Talked with sales again. They have completed the DOT certification stuff. Right now they are getting ready to start shipping bikes and hope to ship out 150 of them in July to customers.
-
Man I hope that I can get my ZERO S soon, I have had a deposit on the S since December and need to get the S
to get my sales of ZERO's going. They just keeps on slipping the date. Thanks for the forum on ZERO's as I think they
are the next level of electric vehicle technology. All the Best..........All the Time

Considering all of the news out there about Zero I think the company's priorities are marketing and R&D. It doesn't seem like production and delivery have the priority that it should. The dates just keep getting pushed back and not sure how long I will wait for one. It is frustrating.

http://www.50cycles.com/ just got their Zero S x 2...
Two enormous crates just arrived. Zero S motorcycles inside. Exciting!about 4 hours ago from TweetDeck

Any idea if they were a regular order or if they were something special since they are a dealer?
-
Not sure. I don't have any information beyond that tweet.
-
Im going to guess that order was sent out of states because of the cert. delay. Maybe the 50hz guys are going to work the cert needed for that side of the pond for Zero.

Yesterday I received a small box in the mail that had a Zero Motorcycles T-shirt in it along with a couple of decals and a form letter from VP of Marketing John Loyd, saying that the bikes would start shipping in July...

Cool, let us know when you get the bike (you have a deposit down right?), Im looking forward to hearing some reviews from owners and hearing from my local rep for a test ride...
-
Yeah I have a deposit down but I am in a weird situation because I can't really justify paying an extra $1,500 for the bike to get it a few months early. Right now, if I purchase it, I won't ever receive the the $1,500 rebate that will be offered by the California Air Resources Board in the future. So unless I can come up with some kind of creative deal with Zero, I'll likely be one of the later people owning one of these bikes...
-
ohh, ok, yea i don't blame you, $1500 off is worth waiting a few months for...
-
I put a deposit down March 10, 2009--and was told I was upper 60's /lower 70's in-line--AND, that I'd likely get my bike in the first or second week of June. So far, I've heard NOTHING from Zero! Pretty sad. I guess I expect better communication and maybe send me a brochure (or or email or something.) The Brammo goes on sale July 7. (Perhaps Zero just wants us to keep waiting longer? ) One wonders who can actually deliver product. Maybe I'll get a T-shirt too--except they don't know my size.
Perhaps I'll wait for the PMW Shocker, or the special edition Electric Motorsports.
Why doesn't Zero just 'street' am X (lights, horn, speedo), and then we could get the tax credit and they could sell and ship bikes?
-
Your post sent me back to my records to figure out when I placed my deposit (3/23/9). Maybe your package is in the mail. They are probably just sending everybody XL T-shirts (not my size).
But if the letter is right when it says "We appreciate your patience and will begin shipping in July", July starts in less than a week, so your bike might be ready pretty soon.

There are more delays with the Zero-S. This time it is related to the batteries. They are not likely to ship until August now. It seems everytime you talk to sales there is another problem that pushes back the delivery date.
-
Darn sorry to hear that, I wonder what is up with the Batt? Going to add a real BMS unit? I'm going to guess it would use the same cells as the X so I would not think its a supply problem.
-
Zero was testing a batch of batteries from their manufacturer and some failed testing.
-
Odd you would think that Zero would have a good stock pile of cells around. Molicel the mfg of the Zero X cells and I would have to guess the same cells in the Zero S. Molicel has been making those cells for some time. I don't think Zero is telling us everything. Even if it had a bad "batch" It still should have had some cells on-hand to start shipping.

Well I repeated that rumor to my local Zero rep from Newport Beach, and here was his reply:
"Hahaha, Peter, please talk with me. I am not sure what you are listening too. It should be directly from the source, us."
This was a few hours after he also trashed the rumor that there might be a plan in the making for allowing the CA customers to get their bikes early without losing the $1,500 rebate...
So right now color me confused.

I got my information directly from talking to a Zero sales person so hard to get more direct than that. When I talked with one back in June they said that they were only waiting on the DOT certification and then they would start shipping. Sounds like they were waiting on a lot more than that. Was told a few weeks later that 150 bikes were going to be shipped in July. Hard to believe they would say that if they were waiting on batteries. Initially the Zero-S was to be shipped in May and now they are claiming August. It seems everytime I talk with a sales rep there are more delays. I was really hoping to be riding mine this summer but not sure that is going to happen. It is hard to say what is really going on.
