Title: Rider magazine MOTY election
Post by: Richard230 on April 28, 2014, 08:52:13 PM
Rider magazine (June issue, page 8) is letting their readers choose their 2014 "Motorcycle Of The Year" award.  I note that they include all of the 2014 Zero models on their list of motorcycles that they believe qualify for the award.  They also will accept write-ins votes.  The deadline to vote is June 30.  If you vote and explain why you chose that motorcycle you will be entered into a random drawing for a nice prize.  Or you can vote anonymously if you don't want to leave your name and be entered into the contest.  You can vote at Rider's website:  http://www.ridermagazine.com/2014-peoples-choice-motorcycle-of-the-year-vote-now-win-a-prize/ (http://www.ridermagazine.com/2014-peoples-choice-motorcycle-of-the-year-vote-now-win-a-prize/)

I thought this would be a good way for electric motorcycle enthusiasts to show their support for our riding passion on a major U.S. motorcycle magazine forum.

Voted Zero SR.

Remember, the bikes eligible for Rider’s People’s Choice Motorcycle of the Year award are those that are new or significantly changed for the 2014 model year. Early release 2015 motorcycles are not eligible, nor are models that have returned for 2014 with only minor model changes.

IMO the 2014 Zero S and DS and 2014 Brammo Empulse are relatively unchanged, at least by elmoto standards, and don't belong on this list.

The Zero FX picked up a pillion seat, which makes it a little different.

The Zero SR is a new model, and picked up a big pile of speed over a Zero S.

I voted for the SR and added some comments about electric motorcycle advancements during recent years and likely advancements in the future.
