I'm a geek, and I added a userstyles.org CSS patch (http://userstyles.org/styles/browse/electricmotorcycleforum) last year that increases contrast and clears out some noisy areas of the layout. Let's just say that forum UI bothers me enough to do something about it. :)

This is very much subjective, but tweaks or suggestions are welcome, or just mention if you like it. I use the Stylish plugin for Chrome to apply it, but this also works in Firefox or any other browser that can patch CSS for users.
