Title: Agility is bringing Saietta R, other models to the U.S.
Post by: drivin98 on December 11, 2013, 04:22:31 AM: Looks like the U.S. will get another electric motorcycle choice. Agility Global is bringing its Saietta R Stateside, along with other, future models.

Performance seems to be on par with the Zero SR, but with better handling. Company also says they will be improving performance with new motors, including a water-cooled unit.

However, it's been nearly 3 years since the bike was first announced .. I saw something about a pre-production unit going out to a customer some time ago. Are these available in the UK as production units now?

In comparison, the Empulse was also nearly 2.5 years from announcement to release .. and that time seemed interminable.

Claims of 20 kWh packs, new liquid-cooled motors (AC?) are nice and all, but show me the production bikes.

Prices look a little higher than Zero SR, specs are about the same, but as Zero has withdrawn from the UK market the two bikes aren't directly competing. Show me a US price.

Earlier this year, Zero was purportedly selling the 2013 S in the UK. Prices were â‚¤11,695 for the ZF8.5 and â‚¤13,495 for the ZF11.4, including VAT.

Since the US price equivalents were $14k and $16k, and the 2014 ZF11.4 SR is $17k, then I would expect the UK SR pricing to be â‚¤14,395 including VAT.

Agility has set the R pricing at Â£13,975 - notably not including VAT.

VAT appears to be a flat 20% (https://www.gov.uk/vat-rates) tax. So that would put Agility's UK pricing at Â£16,770, or about 16% higher than the Zero SR.

If/when Agility starts selling their bikes in the US, expect pricing to be in excess of $20k, plus delivery.

That's one way to divert air flow around a big block of batteries.
With Zero's optional 14 kWh upgrade and DC fast-charging - I would choose the Zero.
