This is an interesting news article I read over on GM-Volt.com. Could Lithium sulfur be the next big step battery chemistry? Better density, thermally stable, no damage to capacity when run to 100% discharge... They say it is coming in 2014! It is a good read, check it out!

I recall reading that Toyota were developing Li-S tech at least as early as 2011. If a small 45 employee company can beat them to it I would be very surprised.

I agree but then again I really don't think Toyota has their heart into electric. The rav4ev is a compliance vehicle(they build it in my Province and they refuse to sell it here >:( ), and the Prius line is still paying its returns to Toyota so they are in no rush to mess with a great selling line of cars to try some newfangled battery chemistry.
If they have the right 45 people maybe the little guys can pull something off!

I didn't see any mention in the article of the short term or max discharge rate. I wonder if they can get into the 4-5C range?

haha, I'm using the outlet near an air-conditioning condensation unit... electrical outlet hunting is kind of fun.
