Title: Could you replace an 8.5 battery with the 11.4 battery?

Not very likely to do that, but was wondering if that is doable?

I see no reason why not, the chassis is the same.  Just need to reprogram the controller/MBB

Thanks for the info. At one time on their website in late 2011, Zero said they would give Zero owners a 25% discount I think it was on future upgrades. That was just before they completely changed wiring, batteries, motors, frame, almost everything from the 2011 to the 2012 so no upgrades were even possible. Who knows, if I have battery problems or keep the bike a few years, I might consider a change.
