I just saw one Zero DS 2013 up to now at the exhibition, but couldn’t make out where to connect the second charger.
Does anyone use the quick charger option at a 2013 DS/S and let me know how it works.

The CHAdeMO plug cuts a hole in the right side plastic fairing and mounts flush on the side.

Yes I know, I am think of the "quick charge" option - it will use a second charger like the 2012 could use 3 more, 2 connected at the right side top of the battery box and at the back of the box you can use also a y-cable to feed in the the 3rd + standard charger.
The 2013 can use 1 additional but I can not find how it is plant to use / connect. I guess it will use also an Y-cable but don't know.
So I think out her there will be someone with real-life experience.

Ah, apologies.. I didn't read closely.
The port on the right side on the 2012 battery box is covered up by the frame and seat on the 2013 bikes.

No need for apologies! I am thankful to get a response at all.
I think it is really a bit confusing and need more explanation (Quick Charge vs CHAdeMO). When I was at the exhibition I could not make it out where to connect and my dealer is still waiting to receive his first Zero 2013 :'(
The main point the CHAdeMO is very rare hear, so if I would buy a 2013 I had a step backwards of my 3 charger at 2012.
OK the more capacity and a bit better charger will nearly compensate it!
BTW I think CHAdeMO would be the right way, you don't need to have the big and expansive charger equipment and this makes a big advantage for a bike. I don't see why it is so expensive(at the bike) because I got the impression it is mainly a CAN communication :-\. But it seams we (Europe) will go a different way :'(. Guess they are not willing to put the extra money for the charger.
I read an article that says statistically you need 2-4 charger for each vehicle (at the moment) to support a good coverage.
I think it is true I charge 95% at home!

2013 S + one quick charger charges just as fast as 2012 S + two quick chargers.
2013 ZF11.4 QC +1: 93 miles combined * 0.95 / 4.1 hours = 21.5 miles/hr
2012 ZF9 QC +2: 63 miles combined * 0.95 / 2.7 hours = 22.2 miles/hr

I believe the CHAdeMO inlet cost is very high. But it's probably more that it's a low volume option and Zero wants to amortize their development effort (probably $50k++), or price gouge the early adopters, depending on how cynical you're feeling.
And besides, if CHAdeMO is useful to you them its worth almost any price. If it's not then it has zero value. I imagine Zero has run the numbers and found that price sensitivity is pretty inelastic.
The 2013 Nissan LEAF S base model retains the old 3 kW charger. There's a $1300 option that swaps to the 6.6 kW charger, adds the CHAdeMO inlet, and a rear view camera. So prices will come down a lot! But don't forget Nissan probably orders 10-20k CHAdeMO inlets per year.

Off topic question for our European friends. What is the electric v gas comparison (price wise) for using electric vehicles versus ICE in Europe? I have no idea what electricity costs in Europe and thus the curiosity.

That is a tricky question, the price has raised this year because the politician will make us believe the renewable energy would raise the price. I work in that business and it is a lie! Sorry I had to mention that!

Premium: 1l 1.55-1.62€
1 Gallone = 3.78541178 Liter
1 € ~ 1.3074$

The monetary conversions look right to me. But you Europeans sure are being $crewed. I live in California, where we probably have one of the higher electric power rates in the U.S., being that much of the power is generated by "green" systems. Plus, we have a lot of taxes and fees tacked on to the power generation and distribution costs. I just checked my Pacific Graft and Extortion bill and the gross cost, including all taxes and fees, for power comes to 14 cents per kWh.

I have to add all is including tax, not sure but often the price in US is not including tax.
The energy cost are high, on the other side I think we get fossil energy still to cheap. We really burn away a material that we need for nearly every thing, plastic, medicine ... if the generation 100years later will look back they will be shocked what we have done.

Fuel prices vary a lot throughout EU.
95 octane fuel is €1,78 per litre in the Netherlands for example.
My EV charge card is €0,28 per KWh for public charging. At home I pay €0,23 per KWh.
I own 3500KWh worth of windenergy shares so all my electriciy is 100% green.
