I am just curious to hear if $147 is normal for the registration renewal of a 2012 Zero S Motorcycle??
It seems pretty high for a small motorcycle like that, especially since it's an EV.
Shouldn't there be an incentive with reduced registration pricing for E.Vs ??

Seems really high to me... what state are you in?
Could be that your state is making up for lack of gas taxes?

I am in CA. Ya $147 for a $11,000 vehicle seems high!!
-
In Texas it's the same as a ICE bike.

Well, everything costs more in CA. It is like another country in some respects... especially compared to Idaho.

My CA registration renewal set me back $180. :(
-
Which is more than 3x what I pay in Texas. That nice weather sure is pricey :)

I won't tell you how much it costs in Idaho. But it is cold here for a lot of the year.

$42 for my 2012 DS last week in Brazoria County, TX (south of Houston). But considering it weighs 1/10th of what my car does, and contributes less to the county's EPA "non-attainment" status, yet costs 2/3 as much to register, I can still complain :-)

That's about what it is here in Colorado. in NJ, we had much lower vehicle reg costs (13 yrs ago, maybe that's changed) but much higher real estate taxes. they get you one way or another...
