Title: How Much Energy does a Zero Motorcycle use when Plugged in for extended time ?

Hey All,

Just wondering if anyone out there knows how much energy a Zero Motorcycle consumes to be kept on the charge for a month of no ridiing, just sitting there watching the batteries be full of energy here in an Idaho winter?

Just curious how much energy is consumed to monitor and continually top off the batteries during winter storage.    The Zero manual recommends always keeping the bike plugged in.

Mine draws 5W continually, and I see a tiny spike once or twice a week that doesn't even last a minute.

Agree. If I don't ride it on a weekend then I'll see approximately 5W averaged over the entire duration.

The bike is supposed to do a balance every 72 hours. Not sure how much energy that uses .. would guess not a ton.

My bike uses 7 watts when it is not bulk charging.  Compared with fully charging the batteries, it is not much.  My guess is that you are paying just a few dollars in electricity by keeping it plugged in all the time.

I can live with a 5 watt power leak to keep it topped up and balanced.
