I'm thinking about riding in the Rolling Thunder event on Memorial Day in Washington DC this year. It is an amazing gathering of motorcyclists and I think it would be a fun way to show support for the troops by riding in this event.
Is anyone else interested in going?

PS - I posted this in the 2012 Zero forum because this seems to be the most active forum, not to exclude other brands. In fact, it would be awesome to have multiple brands riding together.

A bunch of Zeros would change this event into Rolling Silence......

That actually made me laugh out loud. ;D

I did it! I rode with Rolling Thunder on May 26th, 2013 as the first electric motorcycle to participate in the rally! It was an incredible experience, and this year there were 750,000 bikers. Had some good conversations with some Harley guys and opened some eyes to electric bikes.
It was a perfect day for a ride, and riding around the National Mall in Washington, DC was incredible (especially disregarding stoplights!)!

Nice ride Benswing. I'll bet it was a hoot to ride with all of those Harleys on a machine that makes no noise.

Yup, it was an awesome day!
Funny story - on the way to the Pentagon parking lot (staging area), we're all lined up in 2 rows and a guy on a Harley asks me if I'm riding a 250. Here's our exchange:
Harley guy - "Hey, is that a 250?"
me - "No, it's electric."
Harley guy - "Is that a 250?"
me - "No, it's electric."
Other Harley guy - "How far does it go?"
me - "I've gone 114 miles on a charge."
Harley guy - "One day I'm gonna have one of those."
His last statement totally took me by surprise, but maybe he's already read some of the great articles on Zero Motorcycles. Anyway, it was a good day, great ride and everyone I spoke to about electrics was receptive to the idea. :-)
