Motorcycle.com has just published a very complimentary review of the street version of the Lightning race bike. This thing is brutal and the video showing its acceleration is just amazing. The price of the production version is $38,800, but if you are looking for a race bike to ride on the street, or in an EV race, the cost is likely less than most any IC race bikes you are likely to be able to buy. Plus, you can't ride those on the street. Check out their review here:

I hear noises about Lightning "going into production" with a street version of their bike. I looked at their web site and it does not seem to be as polished or well developed as Mission's. Does anyone know if these guys (or this guy) is real? I do not mind if they choose to spend all their money on the bike and not marketing; I'd just like to learn a little more about how the bike is engineered and built.

Last year at a EV show I met a couple of the Lightning staff and saw their bike. They are real and seem to know their stuff, but that is not the same as being a successful motorcycle manufacturing business. I don't know how they are doing selling their production model. My guess is that production is based upon secured orders and manufacturing each bike takes a while.
