Highlights to the 2011 model line include:

* Every model is now â€˜quick-chargeâ€™ capable using an optional upgrade
* Every model has been completely overhauled both technically and visually
* New brakes, suspension and wheels for every model
* A silent and maintenance free belt drive system for the Zero S and Zero DS
* Street legal versions of the Zero X and Zero MX
* And much moreâ€¦

Best of all, the motorcycles begin shipping to customers in March.

I find the comment about now using a belt for the final drive interesting.

Post by: Brammofan on February 08, 2011, 10:21:41 PM: Yeah, the belt drive is pretty cool. I wonder how much a replacement will be. They don't have one on their "parts" pages on their site. Also, I'd like to know more about the fast charger - also not available on the site.

The 2010 mirrors are almost useless. I've sent an email to a couple of my Zero contacts about getting the upgrades. I'll post here once I find out.

Post by: gasdive on February 09, 2011, 03:48:35 AM: I'm not keen on the belt drive for an "off road" bike as they don't seem to like digesting stones. However the new tyres, new brakes, bigger battery and fast charge add up to a big improvement.

I knew that like computers or digital cameras, if I waited I'd get something better and cheaper, but I wouldn't have liked to have missed out on the fun I've had the last couple of months.

I'm hoping they homologate the MX street in Australia, but it's a very expensive process.

Post by: manlytom on February 09, 2011, 10:37:42 AM: yeap - same here I rather get on with the Zero S now that they have (are delivering tomorrow) before the new models hit Australia.

Funny though that I was talking to Zero about quieter rubber guards or belt, front fender above wheel, black battery .... and standard tyres....

it is good to listen to feedback and will look at trading in.

For the meantime I understand the software can be upgraded on the 2010 model so we can get at least some benefits !
