Chip Yates not racing TTXGP and FIM is looking to be a great thing for electric motorcycle racing (including TTXGP and FIM). He is breaking new ground (http://plugbike.com/2011/01/10/are-electric-motorcycles-as-fast-as-gas-bikes-yates-proves-yes/) and putting electric in front of new eyes. Hardcore racers. Not the guys you watch on TV but the ones that spend all their money on it because they love it. That will probably go a really long way to move electric motorcycles further into acceptance.

The thread above is a/the WERA forum. The discussion is a good mix of acceptance and bets he will fail. After race results are posted at about page 5 discussion goes to objections about the bikes fairness, thumbs up and suggestions on how Chip can improve the bike. :D Good stuff.
