Title: Zero X mods.. plus a double battery idea.
Post by: Spires on October 07, 2010, 06:52:52 AM
Heya, I watch the forums for any goodies that may pop up but so far kinda quiet. I'm interested in any mods people have done. Only real mod I've done is carved out a notch on the bottom plate under the motor so I could use a large front sprocket with the small rear sprocket to get just over 50mph. I was toying with the idea of moding the battery cage only slightly so I could slide another battery in. I was thinking with one battery half out the left side and other battery half out the right side if you had a long run to do. When one battery ran out, you could stop, swap around the batteries or the cable to use the 2nd one. I've measured around the bike a bit sure they would stick out a bit on each side, but not obtrusively. You wouldn't want to race of course, but a nice long run would be cool. What you guys think?

Best thing is to gut a stock battery and fill it with prismatic cells. Not worth it to drag the weight of a 2nd back unless you use it real time, not doing a swap over.

The only mod I have on mine is a cycle analyst with an LED head light.

What are prismatic cells? They have a lot better range? Are they totally compatable replacements?

Oh man, Saiki is gonna track you down! lol

Interesting idea Spires. Let us know if you give the double battery a shot.

I'm always interested in hearing about mods.
