Title: Low Beam Glitch

On a tour today, the bike threw faults at me.
First it were Stop Light Fault, several times but they vanished during driving.

Not much later the bike‘s low beam went out and I got the fault B1010 (Low Beam Short Circuit Fault).
After switching the bike off and then on again, the low beam works for one or two minutes and then it‘s off again.
Surprisingly, high beam works fine.

Does anyome have a clue what’s going on?

Both low beam failing at the same time or just one and then lights shut down after short time?

Could be one of the LED drivers. There are 4 in total, one for low beam, one for high beam, and this per head lamp.
I had that some years ago, got a new LED driver on warranty, but don't recall which error code I had and if both or just one beam was off.
The electronics monitors the power drain, if something is not as expected it shuts down the component, then both lamps should go out.

If you disassemble the front carrier you may switch low and high beam drivers and see if the fault moves to high beam.
Lot's of same cables and connectors in the carrier, properly mark them before you disconnect them.

As interim fix you may then use the high beam driver for the low beam.

ive seen goofy light indications like that when the little board inside the light got wet and started corroding from a cracked lens.  A loose or damaged wire can cause issues too.

One thing to remember is that sometimes if you are riding the fault will lock that function out, the lights won't work anymore until you cycle power to the bike to reset it, especially if it is throwing short circuit faults, it's trying to protect the power supply.

low beam and high beam are two different circuits so should not affect each other.

Try looking at the lamp make sure it's in there seated properly and the board is not boogered up or the wire that comes iinto it, is not pinched or the plug messed up where it plugs into the chassis wire.

Does the work for a minute or two happen when riding or did this happen when sitting still?  Riding it may be that's just how long it took for vibrations to shake whatever into the thing next to it again.

Jens&Aaron thanks for your input.

Both lamps (Ribelle) fail simultaneously during riding as well as in standstill. I hoped for a loose connection due to vibrations as Aaron indicated but apparently that's not it.
Thanks But at least I know now that there is no fuse or something easy to fix.

I will have close look later today to see if I can see something like a cracked wire and how complicated it is going to be to switch the drivers from high beam to low beam (excellent suggestion for a workaround, Jens!).

Update: Just looked at the cabling and connectors yesterday, there is no obvious reason like loose plugs or broken wires.

As Jens mentioned, there is a mess of cables there, so in case you want to play around, do mark them properly! I used tape and noted the function on it.

The low beam input from the source was already marked 'low beam' at my bike, so it was relatively easy to identify cables and connectors.
The LED driver at the bottom is the one for low beam, the upper one is for high beam.
(Update: Not correct, the two LED drivers are dedicated to one lamp, i.e. lower one for the left, upper one for the right lamp.)
Connectors for both are the same, so I did not extract the LED drivers (that appears to take a lot of disassembling work), but only switched the connectors.

That works as Jens indicated: High beam driver is now working the low beam, nice workaround!

When I then switch to low beam (i.e. the low beam driver is then trying to power the high beam lamps) only the right lamp is lighting up for a second, left side remains dark and after some time the fault message comes up. I regards this as a clear sign that the LED driver has died.

Update:
I had the opportunity to get a single LED driver from a MY '20 Ribelle (big thank you to Electric Rebel!).
Obviously Energica changed technicals from MY '20 to '22, because the older LED driver is different in size and has only one set of cables goint in and out (the newer has two sets of cables).

Just by trial and error I got my lights running correctly again by connecting the MY'20 driver to the left low beam. Don't ask me why this is working (MAGIC!). ;D
So I thought I will no touch anything more and just fixed stuff with a ton of cable straps  8)

Glad to hear you got it running again.  Hopefully it stays running, but if not, at least you have a very good idea where to go looking to fix it, good job.
