I just ran into the first bug on my 2023 Zero DSR/X. I had it charged to 65% using the charge target. I turn the bike on, and it says 65% SOC. All fine so far.
Then I plug in my 12KW Tesla Wall Connecter using a Tesla Tap because I am going to ride it today, so I went to charge it to 100%.
The bike instantly says I am charged to 97% SOC as soon as it is plugged in to the Tesla Tap.
So now I have no idea of the bike is charged to 65% or to 97% SOC, other than a clue below:
I left it charging and in five minutes it was at 100% SOC and started charging at 3.8 KW when at 97% indicated, so I assume from that the 97% was the correct one. IOW, I assume it didn't really stop charging at 65% SOC, but said it did.
It is a bug either way.
FW version 8V33.

I took a ride to here (https://www.plugshare.com/location/658640) on it yesterday. That is 80 miles / 130 km. It acted as what was then indicated, which was 100% SOC after a full charge from 97%, which only took a few minutes.
So what I believe happened it is did NOT stop at the 65% target it was set for but stopped at 97% SOC with 65% indicated until I plugged in to charge and it then instantly showed 97% SOC which was true.
Only bug I have seen on this bike, which is nothing compared to my 2023 Energica Experia which is full of bugs. Dies in reverse about half the time. Also dies about half the time when I set the cruise control. With the "undefined fault" message. And countless other bugs, especially with false messages, such as it telling me the bike if off when I am on the freeway, or saying the charge cable can now be removed. And the FOB not in range message and many others. And it has the lasted FW.
I have not seen any bugs in my 2020 SS9-, so the Experia is disappointing.
Only one bug seen in my Zero DSR/X, so that is not too bad. It will probably never happen again.

my experia has been operating pretty flawlessly now and i got several k on it already. ive run the thing from wot for many miles to off roading a bit with it, but not really horrible mx type abuse, and it's been a real workhorse.
probably too late to get yours flashed as it sounds like you may have something buggy.

That makes sense. So the only issue was a failure to stop charging at the prescribed target…. Did you just happen to catch it on the way up to 100% (it was plugged in for perhaps less than 12 hr), or do you think it stopped charging exactly at 97% for some reason (when it otherwise normally would have charged to 100% without a prescribed target)?…

I did not catch it. And it was not plugged in at the time. It was charged with the target set to 65% and I removed the charging cable days ago. It said "65% SOC" so everything looked fine until I decided to use the bike with a charge to 100% to go to Quincy, CA, 80 miles from here.
Then I plugged in my Tesla Tap to my 12KW Tesla Wall connector, waited a couple of minutes and then plugged it into the charge port. It instantly changed to 97% SOC and got to 100% in just a few minutes and then stopped charging.
So what it looks like happened, for whatever reason, the bike was stuck at an indication of 65% SOC and that made the real charger (in the bike) believe it was at 65%, even though it was really at 97% SOC.
So I assume the SOC indicator got stuck at 65%, making the charger "think" it was really just a hair below 65% when it was up to 97% SOC in reality, so it just kept on charging. IOW, even a "normal" bike will stay at 65% target for a minute or two before the charger shuts off. So I assume the bike "thought" it was in that range, not fully at the shutoff at 65% SOC target.
Just guessing.
Somehow, plugging in the Tesla Tap made ii show the true 97 SOC% and no problems noticed since then.

It's not the charger that's in control, it's the bike. The charge target is set through the dash (or the app I assume).

No matter what the power input method is, if the bikes says no more then it should cut it off. No charger can force it to charge any further nor should there really be any way that it could cause a glitch on the bikes end. The only communication that happens between the bike and power source is the bike telling it how much it would like to draw, then the power source supplies it.

Does the wall charger and the Tesla charger get the charge status from the same sensor?
The Tesla Wall Connector is just a 240 VAC supply much like a J-1772, just different output plug. The Tesla Tap makes it connect as a J-1772. Nothing different about it, AFAIK.

Maybe the house elves charged it while you were busy with something else. :)
You didn't specify if you charged it previously on your Tesla charger or on a wall outlet through an adapter. If you used different equipment/connection that might cause a difference in charging. It shouldn't. But the question is if it's a software bug or hardware issue. It would also be interesting if you could duplicate the error.
When at home, I always charge it the same way, from my Tesla Wall Connector with a Tesla-Tap. This was the ONLY time there was a problem. I often keep the bike's battery target at 65% if I do not plan on using the bike for a few days or so.
I assume this was just a weird one-time bug. I doubt I will see this bug again.

Roger that. Thanks for the explanation!
I too hope it was just a one time error. If the SOC (Voltmeter) is not registering and thus not displaying the true voltage, I guess there could be concern the bike would just charge indefinitely, but I presume the BMS has multiple redundancies in place to prevent this.

I had the exact same problem with my dsrx 2024.
Then I tried to replicate the bug and I did. When you choose the battery limit, sometimes it is showed on the display but it is not stored in memory correctly.
I set 70%, and it was still charging 1 hour after the 70%. Then I went for a ride and it showed 70% for 20-30km then it started going down to 69,68,etc...
I checked the battery charge limit again and now it said 90% xD so the bike was at 90% SoC but showing 70%. This is done to allow charging to 80% and if the bike goes to 81% it will show 80% as a top cap. Then there is a bug when sometimes two different settings are stored (max at display and max real charge)
Now I check twice that the limit has been stored properly and no problem yet :D

At least this is not a serious bug. And for it to be the first bug in more than a year, I don't think that is bad at all.
IMO, these days when everything is controlled by some type of computer, an occasional bug is expected.
