Looking to purchase a CAN bus sniffer / logger / analysis tool as a next step...be nice to connect to OBD port w/ wireless link.

Any recommendations to short cut effort is appreciated...objective is purely educational.

So what exactly are you looking to do here, sniff the Energica software and see how it ticks?
They have encrypted and unless you have the key, or access to a fairly huge amount of computer powering, think distributed computing, like blockchain, <-- there's a hint for you, to get the job done... it's going to be fairly hard, unless you know the code to get in.

What specifically are you looking to learn?

The communications protocol mainly to decode request codes for BMS, Traction Drive and Charger control.

Think GS911 diagnostic tool equivalent.
