Title: Help understanding MBB logs

I'm troubleshooting a problem where my battery light comes on sometimes,which is why I'm looking at this. That's in another thread that I'm going to update later with things learned.  Meanwhile, can somebody please explain these log entries? These are from a log I captured right after I bought it, when it was new.

When the bike is keyed off and not charging, and often almost precisely on an hour interval, it closes the contactor and charges the 12v battery for one minute, then opens the contactor again, and lines like these two are logged:

However, sometimes the time between starting and stopping is greater, and another line appears... "successfully charged" that doesn't with the one minute one I just showed you. That looks like this:

If the bike is keyed on, or when it's actively charging, the DC to DC is always powered so these lines don't appear. No need to close the contactor then... it's already closed and the battery has access to charging voltage I assume.

My questions are :

#1) What are the three uV readings? Battery seems self explanatory but what are the others?

#2) Why does the charging cycle sometimes begin and end in a minute, but other times take longer and generate a line that says "successfully charged"?

#3) Why is the DC to DC value sometimes near the battery value, and sometimes only in 1/10ths of a volt?

Any help is appreciated.

Do you have logs for any of the other times where it only charged for a minute? The obvious thing to note is that when that happened the ambient temp was 30°C, a couple degrees higher than the successful session, so perhaps some component was hitting a temp limit. I assume the DC-DC voltage reading is just the output voltage from the DC-DC converter and it just happens to be taking the logs at different times, the "starting charging" measurement seems to always happen before it starts putting out meaningful voltage and for the successful charge session it caught it before it had turned off.

No idea about the combined voltage, it's obviously not a combination of the two (being a lower value), my first thought was a measurement of the difference and it's just labelled strangely (wouldn't be the first thing in the logs to be such) but it's not that either. Perhaps the "battery" measurement is a max reading and then the "combined" is the resting voltage, would make a little bit of sense considering the greater difference after the successful charge. The labels don't make sense but again that wouldn't be a massive surprise.

Heres a dump of a recent one showing the 1minute on the hour pattern. The difference in temps in the first post is likely time of day. That's a Florida south facing garage, and its near the door. One entry is at around 1pm, hot, and other is early am, less hot. That time of year is still pretty hot.

I see there's a bunch of data between the start and stop of the charging that you cut out, do you have that for the successful charge so we can see if there's any differences? There is a fault that pops up when it gets cancelled, might not be anything unusual or serious but worth checking. Also it's strange that in those logs it says it's requesting the charge, but the ones you first posted say starting charge.

So that HVIL fault doesn't show up when it's successfully charged, even though that fault clears before it cancels the charge maybe it's enough to tell the bike "nope, it's not safe to carry on". I looked it up in the unofficial manual and apparently it's indicative of a "loose connection in the power pack harness". I think I remember hearing that there was a defect with a harness (not sure if it's the same one) of one of the gen 3 bikes early in their release and yours is quite an old one. If you haven't already it would be worth contacting a dealer to see if they have any more info on it and whether your bike may be affected.

I'm going to try connecting through OBD2 with teraterm and watching that way for my next tests on my days off.
This log we just looked at was when the bike was new, 4 years ago. I assumed, maybe wrongly, that their system would sometimes apply tests, prerequisites for some actions, and if they were successful, they would be logged as cleared faults.
But I dont always see the fault pending for HVIL. Sometimes I do.
