Hi All,
I mostly commute to work on my Experia and charge at home or work via the normal AC connection. My home has a normally 10A rated system, so I normally set the cable indicator to 10a and let it charge, (the cable has 6, 8 10 & 15amp settings)...no issues to speak of since I've been doing this and it has worked flawlessly.
I now have a new 13.2kw solar PV system and 19.2kwh battery at home and now a 32amp AC EV charge point has also been fitted....I can set the EV charge point to the 32amp setting without issue but my Experia will only allow 14-15amp maximum charge rate, I can adjust it down as far as I like, but not above 15amps....the manual doesn't mention anything about it or if you can go any higher than the 15amps that I can see. :-\
Am I missing something..??

If the Experia is like the other Energica series bikes, AC charger max capacity is 3KW, roughly 15Amps for a 230VAC service regardless of the service capacity.

What AC voltage is used there? Always figure out this stuff in watts first. For example, 240 VAC times 15 amps is 3,600 watts max. Figure 10% in heat losses and you're left with 3,240 DC watts to charge with. The Enegica is a 3.3 KW charger, so at this your still a bit below the max charging capacity.

If you are using AC to charge your Energica Bike, no matter the brand, the max you will EVER be able to put into the bike is 15 amps. It does not matter what your charger is rated at, 15 amps is what the bike will take MAX. Most of the time you'll see it dance around 12 to 14 amps.
This goes for 120 volt OR 240 volt charging. 15 amps is your MAX.
Drop a quick 240 plug in, with a 30 amp breaker and you are good. Using 240 volts at 15 amps obviously gives you twice the power as the 115 volt at 15 amps will.
The only way to get it to charge faster is to get a DC fast charger, even then, a 10 KW (rated) charger will give you max 20 amps out .. so 6.6 KW of charge to your bike max.

@Aaron...You're quite right...I see just shy of the 15amps max going into the bike. So all is normal. ;D
@Don...yes I have 240v AC and you're quite right, it is 3.3kw max on the Experia, less losses etc. My home "charge meter" shows just shy of the 3.3kw max allowed by the Experia's internal charge controller. Normal then. ;D
