Title: Gas stations are still popular
Post by: Richard230 on September 08, 2024, 02:54:21 AM
An article in the San Francisco Chronicle today reports that Costco has just opened up a new gas station with 32 pumps in San Jose. This compliments their other gas station in the same city with 40 pumps. It must be a real challenge keeping all of those huge pickups and SUVs filled.   ::)

No EV chargers were mentioned in the article - which is kind of my point in bringing up the subject. The big money is in selling gas. Reselling electricity to power EVs not so much - unless you are PG&E, of course.  ::)

I recall that in the city of Sacramento, they made it illegal to open up a new gas station without EV chargers.

But as usual, it means installing more where they are not as needed.

I would like to see more chargers out in the middle of nowhere.

In NV, EV-connect does a great job of that. But nobody else does.

Here is where (https://www.plugshare.com/location/250582) I charged up three days ago.

And here (https://www.plugshare.com/location/207121) two days ago.

Both places are out in the middle of nowhere of the NV desert.
