Posting here first. I am moving from FL to CA and selling my 2017 FXS 6.5 modular. I am the second owner. Purchased 3/2021 with 11,990 miles. Bike now has 13,900 miles. I am planning on buying another Zero when I get to CA. But I just don't have the space on a truck to haul this bike across country unless I rent a larger truck.
For the last 1050 miles I've been tacking my charging using a wattmeter. Nominal battery capacity of the 6.5 kWh modular is 5.7 kWh. The average battery capacity is about 5.35 kWh. My average miles/kWh is 7.6 miles/kWh. So my average range is approximately 40 miles. My riding has mainly been shorter local trips around town. I think I've only ridden the bike on the highway once.
The bike had the BMS replaced under warranty by Zero shortly after I bought it. I also replaced and relocated the charging fuse holder as the old one had some intermittent issues. Otherwise, I haven't had any issues with the bike.
The plastics which were badly faded when I bought the bike were professionally painted white. I applied new graphics to the "tank area". I replaced the grips as they were worn. There is one slight paint cracking issue on the left side panel at the seat bolt. A photo of that is in the imgur album linked below.
The bike has a Zero rack and a flat plate attached to the rack so I can carry stuff for local errands.
Asking price is $3350.

Live in Jax, FL so this is definitely a very doable one day drive.

Thanks. I've had a bunch of low ball offers and crazy stories about how Zero says you have to replace the battery after 6 years. That the battery isn't going to last another 12 months. That Zero no longer supports the motor and controller - despite the fact that they are still making the FX and FXE with the same motor and controller for 2024. Any excuse to try to justify their low ball offer.
If we weren't moving across country I would keep this bike and run it until it dies. I just may end up renting a bigger truck and moving it with our furniture. I already did that with my R1250GS. The FXS will take up a lot less space in the truck, is half the weight and I don't have to worry about gas, oil or chain grease getting on anything.

Id just put out the extra 100 bucks and rent the bigger truck, if you decide later you don't want the bike you can sell it where you moved to.
Beats the dumbasses thinking you are desperate and willing to give it away to them.

Now when we complete our move to CA I need to find a replacement for the FXS so I won't have to ride my R1250GS all the time. I'm thinking a slightly used DSR would be nice or maybe I can still find a great deal on a 2023 DSR/X. I wonder if Zero still has any demo/press bikes in their fleet they might be willing to part with at a nice price?

Euro Cycles in Vegas has some really killer deals right now on new old stock. And Fulgora in Orange casually mentioned some demo or shop bikes, but I don't recall the details. Call him, good guy, easy to deal with.

EuroCycles should have some Energica's as well, and Energica has a shop there too, I believe it's in san fran somewhere, you might be able to get one of their dealer or older models fairly reasonable as well.

If you're looking for something similar to how the FXS rides but like... a leap in features and build quality you should demo ride a LiveWire S2 Del Mar. It's what my brother will probably get if/when his FXS dies.

The Del Mar has a strange look probably due to the tire/wheel combination. The 19" wheels and 80 series tires look big on the bike. The bike doesn't look particularly passenger friendly and it is 125 lbs heavier than an FXS. I think I would go with an FXE and spend $3000 less (or a lot less if I buy a leftover 2023) or a 2024 DS and spend $500 more.

If you get a chance, test ride the Del Mar before passing judgment. It's everything the FXS/FXE is but better in my opinion. I've got two gripes with the Del Mar and they're pretty minor all things considered:
1. too many buttons
2. I don't like the little extra... 'play' in the throttle neutral zone. The LW1 does this as well and people tell me it's a way to cancel cruise control but it just feels a little sloppy on an otherwise impeccably finished bike.

Buttons are a Harley thing.
Anti-button is a Zero thing.
I've ridden my Zero with the gesture based, single button to rule them all, then a Harley Pan America back to back. I used to think I liked gesture controls better, but now I think I like buttons better. If nothing else, the HD cruise buttons were way better than not having them on the Zero. By far. Lack of up/down speed is very stupid. After many hours on the HD, the buttons for most controls were intuitive and found without looking. The Zero's single-button approach obviously means you don't have to look for the button, BUT....you have to look at the display. So if I want grip heat on my bike, I toggle and hold, and the display shows me selections. On the HD I press the dedicated button, never look down, and know they are on.

Can't be worse than an R1250GS, can it? ;) I have yet to figure out a simple way to reset the trip odo.
Or the new R1300GS where apparently you need to go into the menu to activate the heated grips?
