Title: Used Energica Eva from 2017
Post by: Norton350 on September 04, 2023, 04:45:36 PM: Hi all, I've seen a used Energica Eva from 2017 with 7800 Km on the clock here in Switzerland, for 7900 CHF (just over 8000 Euros).

I'm wondering what kind of issues one could have with a bike like this and at this age, and specifically whether it is possible to check the battery deterioration in any way?

Not knowing this for 100 % sure, but the bike's logs were uploaded and sent to Energica.

So in theory any Energica dealer should be in the position to tell you the battery status. Probably you have to pay for this service.

Post by: SBK74 on September 05, 2023, 02:40:02 PM: Bikes of this age can suffer from some throttle issues (potentiometer wear). Throttle is replaceable. To check the battery you could ask for a test drive with non-full battery and do a fast charge. See if it takes 1 kWh per 10% of SOC. Check Firmware: If Firmware is version .34 or lower, it can let you charge with 70A instead of 60A, but that could cause the main fuse to trip if charger and bike communication is bad.

BTW I've seen the ad; I think it has fairing colour of a 2018 model, also a black 2018 display. The range displayed is only feasible by driving downhill or in traffic. The seller should have a story to tell.

A fuse or a circuit breaker. If it trips, do you have to tear shit apart to replace a 70 amp fuse, and where is this located at?
Curious since I fast charge, and well, just in case.
