I know many have already received their Experias, but I'm still waiting (I ordered late 2022). An excerpt from the Energica newsletter in my inbox today: "Still waiting for the Experia electric sport touring bikes to arrive? Later this week, the last of the Experia deliveries to fulfill current U.S. Pre-Sale Customer orders will leave the factory. After this, we’ll start providing demo bikes to our dealers for the autumn."

I wonder how many Experias are now in the USA. And how many in the rest of the world. I assume very few. Anybody with a VIN number in more than two digits? I have number 18.

Mine is 39, took delivery end of March. FYI, also the bike is a model year 2024, not 2023. (I see you are listing yours as a 2023)
Energica screwed up the MSO on my bike originally, neither the dealer or I caught it when doing the paperwork. They issued a corrected MSO and I had to get the title corrected so it matched what Energica registered with NHTSA for the bike. https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/Decoder

You have one too many "Decoder" in your link and it will not work as shown. So use this (https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/) for the Vin numbers.

BTW, in many countries the model year must match the current year. That caused a lot of confusion in the Triumph SE Forum as the first-year model was 2012 in England but 2013 in the USA. Both are the same year model. And the same for all the other years, our model was often a year later than theirs for the same bike.
I assume all or most of Europe is the same way . . . or is it? I think that means if you buy a new bike or car on December 31 2022 in England, it is a 2022 model there but most likely a 2023 model here in the USA for the exact same model vehicle.
Perhaps those in Europe can explain how that works there compared to here.

My Experia was "actually built" in very late November of 2022 but is classed as a 2023 model.....I don't know how a bike delivered in March of 2023 can be a 2024 model....New model year machines don't usually start production until ~September/October of the previous year.

Just curious....If you took delivery in March...how on earth can it be a 2024 model..?? Mine is VIN 029 and was actually built late Nov 2022, I'm assuming with yours being VIN 039, it would have been built not too far away from Xmas of 2022.
Model year 2024 bikes haven't even started production yet....and won't until Sept/Oct.

The same bike can have a different model year in two different countries, as I said in my previous message. The MY is decided by the country, not where it was made.
But AFAIK, the VIN number will always be correct. Perhaps there is something in the VIN number that shows what country the bike is being shipped to.

To decode a VIN number:
The first character notes the country of origin.
The second character notes the Make/Manufacturer.
The third character notes the type of vehicle it is (truck, bus, etc), the division within a manufacturer (Honda, Acura), or both (Acura car).
Characters four through nine are the Vehicle Descriptor Section. This field varies depending on the manufacturer, but they all proide information on the chassis, transmission type, body type, and trim level.
Characters 10 to 17 are called the Vehicle Identifier Section. These numbers are used by the manufacturer to identify the specific car in question.
Characters 12 to 17 represent the Production Sequence Number. The first model off the production line is 000001.

I guess the manufacturer, in this case, GM, assigns the VIN based upon the production date. Back in those days the U.S. auto manufacturers model year always seemed to be a year ahead of the actual production date.

Using the VIN Calculator, my Experia shows up as a 2024. My insurer also considers it a 2024, but DMV says its a 2023. Title and registration are still in process, so I don't know if this is an issue I will need to address, or if they will resolve this amongst themselves.

I guess if the VIN matches the actual bike in your garage, that's what matters. The only conflict I could imagine is if you get pulled over and the Cop notices the discrepancy in model year between your registration and proof of insurance. You could just point out the VIN is the same on all three (bike, Ins, and Reg)

My 10 yr old Jeep GC sitting in the driveway I ordered in March of 2013 and took Delivery on July 3rd of 2013, but it's a 2014 MY (new platform at the time). At best, I think it might help with resale a little at this point, as the the 2014 MY ran well into fall of 2014 until the 2015s came out.

I don't think it matters until you go to sell it, might cause an issue on either end at that time. That being said, I bought a bike once where there was a typo in the VIN on the title. WI DMV fixed it when issuing the new title without any grief. I think I might have had to go to the PD and have them witness the VIN and sign a form. This was a 35 year old airhead however, the older the vehicle the less they care it seems.

It seems about September - October is when the automakers come out with their new year models. Given the government calendar resets on october, and most them are sucking the govt titty to stay afloat anyways, it would not surprise me if there was a correlation. I could also see some dealers getting their inventory ahead of time for the big 'year end blowout sale' bla bla vomit.... and possibly letting a few loose a bit early, ie aug / sept as well, because money talks.
Title problems and stuff that is I guess you could say clerical in nature, they can generally take care of when you goto renew the license, sell the vehicle and it shouldn't be that big of an issue really. Typo's and the such tend to be pretty obvious that they were a typo and not someone trying to pass their 2008 as a 2003 type thing.
Amusing though that they can sell a 2024 this and that, and the 23year is barely half over. So why not just jump the gun and sell me a 25 now, beat the crowd?? ::shrug::

If you really want an Experia and indeed want a white one...I wonder if you can get either the Bormio Ice or Black models and change out the plastics when they become available..??
I personally wanted the black after I had seen one.... but it wasn't an option when I originally ordered mine...which was the "launch edition" Bormio Ice.

This was suggested to me as an alternative, and maybe even using a vinyl wrap. At this point, I just want to ride one. I changed my order to Borimo Ice and was told mid-September.
