Title: SR/F headlight mod
Post by: Delly on July 11, 2023, 07:33:24 AM
I am not a big fan of the SR/F headlight. I think it looks great on the bike but on mine the high and low beam are misaligned.  Since they cannot be independently adjusted I am stuck with a “black band” between the two. I do a lot of night riding in my rural community so for me it has become a safety concern. I may still try cracking open the stock headlight and try to adjust it but for now I decided to add a 7” adaptive headlight. Here are the results:

That looks great, really suits it well. Perhaps a silver surround would be better to tie into the limited silver already on the bike and make the light itself stand out more, but there's already a lot of black on the bike so it doesn't look out of place as is. How did you go about wiring it in, buy a connector to suit the wiring harness and then wire the headlight into that?

Yes, the light came with an H4 so I cut it off and used a compatible plug. I had to fabricate a mounting bracket for the fairing but it allows me to run with or without it with two screws.  I may paint the fairing to match the bike but if I take it that far I’ll probably paint the whole bike.

Wow!! Really love this. Mind sharing the links to the headlight and the brackets? I would really love to try this myself :)
