Title: Bar end size 2023 ss9
Post by: joesedroid on June 26, 2023, 07:15:34 PM
Hello all,
I got these bar ends a couple months ago. They are cheap but perfect. However I needed to cut down the rubber sleeve quite a bit to get them to slide in the handle bars and they move around when I hit bumps (I have mirrors on them). I tried metal ones but there was no way they would fit.I thought there was some conversation on the size of our bars but I cannot find any info on it and and dont believe they are 7/8?
Anyone know the size or our bars?
Thanks
Joe

I think the bar ends are 25.4 mm outside and 22 mm inside diameter.
My bar ends came with aluminium tubes which are spread by a screw. Those rubber thingies are only nice as long as no weight is applied.

Odd, ok thank you. Ive got 3 different 22 mm bar ends and the only way they fit was to cut them down. I cant get a round peg in a round hole :) Ill try again.

Joe, sorry I was wrong. The bar end outside is 22 mm, the inside should be 18 mm.

For a good firm fixing of you bar end mirrors, you better get some quality bar ends. Example: https://www.highsider-germany.de/en/product/161-017-v-dot-bar-end-weights-543580/
Those are especially for mounting mirrors on them.

They usually come with several tubes to adjust, which are then spread by the conical screw to fit the bar's inside.

Just chiming in to agree they seem like an odd size. I bought some bar end mirrors to try and actually had to thicken them up with electrical tape. In the end I didn't end up using them.
