I am planning to buy a Zero S from 2020 and I want to extract the logs from it to check for errors, as well as the state of health of the battery. I am on Android.
On my 2016 FXS, I use an old version of the Zero App because newer versions are no longer fully compatible.
On this 2020 Zero S, I did a test with version 2.1.3 (391) of the Zero App and a phone running Android 8. When I start extracting the logs, it never ends. The application displays a download percentage that exceeds 100% !! I stopped in the 500%, but the logs do not arrive.
My question is :
What version of the Zero App (and possibly Android, but I don't think that's most important) are you using to pull logs from your 2020 Zeros (S,SR,DS,DSR,FX,FXS) ?

Use the Zero Motorcycles app, not the Zero Next Gen.
Bring a lot of patience when pairing the phone to the bike, connecting the bike and downloading the logs. I'd say that will take between one and three hours; likely some tries. Make sure your phone does not go into sleep mode while downloading the logs.

On my 2016 FXS it takes exactly 10 minutes to get the logs. And they are 3 : MBB, BMS0, BMS1, 262144 bytes each.
It is quite improbable that it takes hours on more recent bikes! We just have to learn how to get them...
But when a seller has never extracted the logs, and you are the buyer, you can not test different methods and software versions for hours...

I finally bought a new Zero S 2023.
On this bike, the Zero Motorcycles app does not work (impossible to extract the logs, impossible to program the custom mode).
And the Zero Next Gen application works fine to extract the logs and to program the custom mode.
