Personally, I think they should look like this from the factory.

Agreed that it looks better, but do I get extra points for spotting the pannier lid is on the other way too?

Somebody pointed that out on Facebook too.  I kept kicking them when mounting/dismounting.  Turning them around resolved that issue.
