I don't think I have an especially high standard, but the electric motorcycle of my dreams has the 3 requirements:
- OK range. It should be able to travel about 50km from 100%-20% SOC at a relatively steady speed of 80km/h/50mph in summer weather. Not active driving, just keeping up with regular traffic in Norway.
- OK charging capabilities. This, combined with the next requirement is likely the issue. I'd like to be able to charge from ~10-20% SOC to 70-80% SOC in preferably one hour, but two would be acceptable via AC mode 3 or DC.
- OK price. I don't want to spend as much as a new(ish) Zero SR/S or DSR/X, Energica Xperia or similar. Ideally I'd like to spend about 50k NOK/4,7k USD.
I've researched a bit and have come up with the following:
- 2016-2017 Zero S(R)/DS(R) with charge tank. These used to be priced at about 70k NOK/6,5k USD in Norway, but the cheapest I can find now costs about 120k NOK/11250 USD.
- BMW CE 04. These used to cost about 100k NOK/9400 USD new all inclusive, including quick charger, but now costs upward of 150k NOK/14k USD new.
- Energicas are still too expensive and few and far between.
- The cheaper options don't seem to accept OK charging capabilities. I'm not sure I understand why, but i guess it has to do with battery pack temperature becoming too high. Sondors Metacycle was supposed to come with a "charge tank"-like accessory, but I haven't read anything about that after they've started selling them.
I think I'll probably have to wait a bit until the EV 2W market is more mature?
Thoughts?

Price is too low. EVs are expensive.

But everybody wants more but for less cash. So that is the dream.

This bike will exist in about 3 years' time and it is called a Zero 2019 SR/F Premium.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I expected :)
Too bad the charge tank is so expensive, 44500NOK/4170USD, and that Diginow superchargers are no longer available, or that could have been an option.

DigiNow was just a rebranded chinese charger sold for much more money with a mostly unnecessary control unit.
You can still buy the "DigiNow" charger:) it is (and always was) called "Elcon 3.3 kW" or TCCharger 3.3 kW. They're cost about 500.

Interesting take. They were actually custom specced for us with different components that you will NOT find in the off-the-shelf TC units. I know because I ordered them. And the control boards, at least the v2.5, interfaced directly with the bike's BMS and made a much faster and safer charge.
But hey I guess you were there and know more.
