Title: Battery help

has any one heard of the company EEMB.com they make LifePO4 batteries and i was curious to which ones would be good suit for a 72 volt system. I just want to figure out if the batteries are good or which ones i would need.

thats the link to the batteries i dont really understand the whole AH thing so i dont know which batteries are good

My advice would be to ask them what they think based on your planned motor. I think that 60Ah batteries are popular now for 72V system, but I would get more opinions.

Ah stands for Amp-Hours.  It is a measure of capacity.  If you run at 2 amps for 3 hours you use 6 Ah.  So the higher, the better.  Other than that, it is just a matter of what you can afford and what your project can hold in terms of size and weight.  Don't forget a good battery protection circuit when using lithium or you'll throw away tons of money.

Some basic equations:
Watts=Volts X Amps
WattHours = Volts X AmpHours
AmpHours = Amps X Hours
