Something will have to happen in every country when they realise the large amount of money they no longer rake in as fuel duties.
In the UK duty and taxes amount to 44% of the price of fuel. It has been as high as 74%.

California is adding an additional $100 charge to all EV yearly registration renewals fees for vehicles that were purchased after a certain date, which apparently does not apply to my 2018 Zero as I haven't seen that extra fee yet on my license renewals. :) I haven't heard anything about motorcycles being exempt from the flat $100 fee, which is supposed to be placed in the state's road maintenance account. Being a flat fee, which is not based upon mileage, or anything else having to do with your impact on roadways, it is clearly just a lazy way for the state to collect extra money and make the ICE drivers who are buying gas feel better about the state's 54 cents per gallon road tax.

Thanks Richard! I was wondering why my registration renewal was so high this year!

My state which is Georgia is charging me $241 each year for my BEV car and motorcycle each. It's insane.
