Title: New Energica Eva Owner from New Mexico
Post by: quarkdude on July 13, 2022, 07:14:28 PM
Hello all,
This is Bill From New Mexico - Albuquerque.  I just recently bought the 2017 Energica Eva from San Diego area.  It was posted for sale here.  I have been dealing with shipping companies to get it from California to New Mexico - I finally found a company that will move it at a decent price in a timely manner.  I am hoping for a pickup today, I sure can't wait to see what the Energica feels like for the first time  :D.  I did ride a Livewire, here locally, to see what an Electric bike feels like and I was sold on it instantly.  I started researching what Electric motorcycles were out there and then found this Energica and knew I had to have it  :P.  Here are some pics from the seller - that's all I have at the moment.  I'll be taking some pics of the Eva in the New Mexico Environment soon.
Thanks for the add to the group, Bill - Albuquerque

Thanks a bunch Richard.  I have watched like every video on the Tube about the Eva and looked at all the specs for a 2017.  Checks all the boxes for me.  And it's faster than the Livewire.  The Energica will be awesome  :D :D

Ah so your the one who bought it, congrats.
That should be a very good choice for your first electric motorcycle.  Looks fully optioned out as well.
Enjoy and welcome aboard.

Hello New2elec,
Super excited to be here.  All I have read about the Energica's is really good.  This is an earlier model but the performance should be on Par for sure.  We have a ChargePoint DC fast charger here at my work so "Refueling" should be a breeze.  I'll keep you guys posted on the bike here for sure.  I'm soo excited to get it shipped, I thought it would be today but it looks like tomorrow or Friday for pickup.  I feel like a kid 2 weeks before Christmas and I can't open the presents.  ha ha

Best big boy toys I've ever owned.

The 2017 has the smaller battery but the battery air channel so thermal cutbacks are very rare.  Great choice for NM for sure.
With CCS at work you're double golden.

Warning though, they are addictive.

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll love the Eva! Sometime after you take delivery, can you take pictures of the Givi rack kit that's installed on it? A number of us have been looking for a way to install a top case or monokey side cases with a bit more room than the OEM side cases.

Hello BigPoppa,
Definitely can take some pics for you guys of the Givi rack and can take some measurements as well.  I can't wait for the Eva - sure going to be a 0-60 zoomer for sure.  I'll be sure to post up the pics here for everyone on the racks.  Thanks for the reply.  :)

Please excuse the photo bomb! This one was performed by Todd Chamberlin at Sonic Moto in Oakland, CA. It doesn’t put the top case too high like the ones I’ve seen from Europe, and it’s been rock solid. He’s done several Energicas before mine, so he’s been around the block with them, and he does the painting so you don’t have to take it to a powder-coating shop.

Thanks for the pictures! I've reached out to Todd to get the ball rolling on a top case install (I'm okay with the side bags, I just want a top case for my work laptop).

Hello all,
Still waiting on the Eva to get delivered.  At least it was picked up on July 18th.  These companies take waaaaayyyyy to long to deliver.  I know it's covid and all but a whole week already to go from San Diego to Albuquerque NM - That's a 2 day trip.  Not much I can do but impatiently wait.  :P

Good News!  The Energica Eva was delivered on July 29th, 2022.  I called the warehouse it was at and asked if I could just go over there and pick it up and they said I could.  I left immediately, signed a couple pieces of paper and rode it home.  I was a little nervous riding it from downtown Albuquerque to home but quickly adapted to no clutch lever and no gear shifter.  Since then to now I have ridden  the Eva to work twice and around town  for about 100 miles.  Man this bike is fast.  I especially like the feel of acceleration out of a leaned over turn with all that torque pulling as the bike goes back up to straight up and the speed just keeps climbing so effortlessly.  Definitely an addicting feel for sure.
I will get some pics of the side bag frame with some measurements for you guys soon and post them here.

I have been getting some stare looks as I drive by, I bet the people hear it and are like, "What the heck is that".  It looks like an ICE bike but sounds a whole lot different.
Definitely enjoying the Electric motorcycle revolution with you all.
