Very interesting details. I'd be curious to know why a narrower battery profile would help with cooling. If anything, I'd guess the opposite due to reduced airflow. Maybe he meant that the more-efficient profile means the battery doesn't work as hard and heat up as much in the first place?

There are a couple factors there. First off, there's increased surface area of the pack. That *will* increase cooling. By how much? Dunno. Next, the pack is more energy dense. This means less draw on each cell during acceleration, and also since it has the same charge rate, less power into each cell which also reduces heat buildup. By how much? Dunno.

Lastly, there is the reduced power from the smaller motor. This means less stress on the cells during discharge which, as you may guess, reduces heat buildup. By how much? Dunno. At the end of the day it could be something as little as a 1% difference. Or it could be significantly more. How much? Well....

That makes sense. Hopefully all those factors will add up to significantly less throttling of charge speed. Even my 13.4 SS9 is frustratingly susceptible to slowdowns during the hot summer here, and I would have a hard time justifying the purchase of a fancy new e-moto if that problem is not fixed.
