Hello everyone, I’m selling my 2017 Energica Eva 80 for $11,000. It has 6000 miles on it it’s registered with a clean title in hand. Located in San Diego california United States.
I’m selling it because I’m upgrading to a 2022 Eva. My current bike is in perfect working condition. No issues whatsoever. It also has a custom rack for givi v35 luggage and a monokey top case. I also added heated grips and a dual usb charger (there is a phone mount pictured but that will not be included)
I am willing to deliver the bike within ~100 miles or if you’re further I’m always open to shipping (at buyers expense)

How much do those V35’s detract from your efficiency? Also, how did you fabricate the mounts for them?

I honestly have no idea. I don’t ride my motorcycles without 3 bags on. I routinely get about 55 freeway miles (avg 180wh/mi) when I go to work. Maybe one day I’ll try without the bags see if it’s any better, but then I’d have to wear a backpack. I’m a bit spoiled from having bags. It’s so convenient. I can stop by the grocery store randomly, pick up a pizza, etc.
I bought the rack from a dealer in the Netherlands. They used to sell them on their site but I was recently speaking with someone on the Energica Facebook group and said he no longer makes them. I have a rack from an old VRF. I might try and fabricate something myself for the next bike. But it uses similar mounting points to the oem bags. The four bolts under the license plate holder to the subframe and the passenger pegs

Yes I’m familiar with the benefits of side bags. :) My Trekker 33’s are bricks aerodynamically, though, which is why I asked. When I have them on, my efficiency is 180-200 Wh/mi with no wind at 68 MPH on I-80. Without them it’s more like 140-160. I’m looking for bags that have only a small penalty and can still carry my stuff.

Sorry for following up so late. I only drive into work a couple days a week. So this was my first time to experiment. I traveled to work one day with and one day without. I would estimate that the bags reduce range by 10-20% at highway speeds. At an indicated 90mph (real world about 81mph) I saw 20% less consumption. It makes sense you’d see greater savings at higher speed since wind resistance is non-linear. At low speeds there wasn’t a discernible difference.
At face value it looks like the v35 may be more aerodynamic. I’m also a larger guy, so maybe I block more of the wind for them too :-) so overall the bags have a smaller impact
