Title: SR/F Tires

Walked by my SR/F today and noticed the steel cord showing on the rear tire. Obviously waited too long to change the tire, I had expected it to last longer than 7000 miles. Any recommendations on a tire that should last at least 10,000 miles? Looked at previous forum posts and didn’t notice much.

Michelin Road 4, 5, or 6. I'm over 13k miles on my Road 5GT rear and it's still got some life left.

Here is my data.

Rear Tires 180/55-ZR17
Front Tires 120/70-ZR17
I can't explain why the first rear PR2 could last almost 4000 km more than the second one. I highly doubt any related change in my driving style.
I switched to the PR5 GT in hope that, when getting worn, the tires will be quieter on curves. This was something I really didn't like with the PR2.
For my next set of tires I am considering trying Bridgestone.

The Dunlop Roadsmart 4 is a good tire. A little cheaper than most other brands and they will last as long, or longer, than any other sport/touring radial tire on the market.

I use Metzeler Roadtec 01s on mine and they last longer than 10k
First rear 01 lasted 10k miles, currently 9k miles on the second 01 and still has tread
First front 01 currently has 15k miles on it and still  has tread

Ended up getting the Michelin Road 5. It's even listed in the manual  ::). Took a while to find a shop willing to change it. I was gently mocked about owning a toy, but Color and Chrome Cycle & Motor Spa in Superior WI came through.
