Title: Can the ABS be permanently deactivated without damage?

Hi everyone,
I have a 2018 Zero FX that one exclusively for off-road and so I disable the ABS every time I turn it on: recently however I'm having a lot of trouble doing this and I don't know why, I always follow the same procedure but I have to repeat it up to 10 times for it to work. Is there a way to ensure that it always remains deactivated, without doing any damage? Thanks

Yeah, you can just pull the fuses. It also means the ABS light on the dash isn't lit up which can be annoying.

hello and thanks for the reply: from the manual i saw that there is a fuse called abs 4 and the other abs 9: what changes between the two? do you have to remove both or only one of the two?

On my 2019 DS there were two fuses related to the ABS, a 5 amp and 10 amp. I assume the 10 is for the actual pump and the other is for circuitry, removing just one should still deactivate the system but might result in an error or the light on the dash being lit so I just removed both.

Yep, everything else works fine with no light or error codes on the dash

I'm going to be installing a switch in line with the fuse on my bike so I can turn it off on the fly.

That was my plan too, I've only pulled the fuses as my ABS is faulty (think it's the rear sensor) and I haven't got around the fixing it.

hello, I just try to remove only the ABS fuse, the one that is in the red box by itself to understand, and leave the others that are together with the other fuses: turning the bike on everything seems ok, the symbol remains as if the ABS was active, but actually braking you can nail it without problems so it seems deactivated.
Does this appear to be the case? Are there any problems with leaving it like that? It seems to me the simplest and most effective system, just one fuse to remove without having to go around the others. Thanks
