Hi.
I want to be able to open my seat without the key, so I thought of removing the lock cylinder and replacing it with some fitting part that would have a little plastic handle instead of using a key.
I thought about just cutting one of my keys and gluing it in :D But if a thief took it out he could use it for the ignition as well, so I guess that is a no go.
How to remove the lock cylinder? Do I have to dismantle the whole assembly?

I have a pushbutton in stead of the lock.
I go to my dealer tomorrow, I will ask him the details.

That would be even better with a push button, but that will be a bigger project I guess? Please report back :)

There is a small latch pin that you need to retract into the cylinder. You can just see it in your 2nd photo, it's at the top just peaking out.
Use a pick to push it down into and the cylinder should just slide out.

Within the Facebook group there is a fully modelled push Button assembly going around m I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share that here but the stl files exist. So if you have access to a 3D printer that is definitely an option.

The generic push buttons that are available that some dealers install are a bit wider so the plastics need to be drilled out our filed for the new cilinder to fit. On SS9 you even have to machine the blue metal housing.

Cool modification!
Makes no sense to have keyless and still have to bring a key for charging!

Already installed it. I will upload an upgraded model soon and post some pictures. :)

My dealer installed it also on delivery. Best mod ever (Also Ribelle)

Which dealer? Is that a freaking push button? Does he have any more? Mine is a thing you turn. Push button would be nice.

Yes push button, fits and works perfect on the Ribelle.
The dealer is in The Netherlands:

or if you want https://www.facebook.com/electricmotorcycles.nl/
You can send him a mail, he had more in stock when I was there.

Awesome! Anything special that needs to be done to replace the key cylinder with this?

No, just make the hole a little bigger in the plastics so that this button can go in.
-
No! Don't smash the bike. Just sand a bit off of the 3D printed thing. It need some sanding/filing here and there. I might make a modified one.
** UPDATE sorry didn't get the context :)
-
The push buttons from ali and amazon are slightly bigger and need the whole to be drilled out.
The printed ones can be printed (or sanded) to size.

Ah I get it. Sorry :)
