Title: How to stop charging on keyless models
Post by: marvin28 on December 06, 2021, 01:13:41 AM
I took delivery of a new Energica Eva Ribelle this week and it's lots of fun.

When it's plugged in to charge, how do I stop the charging at the bike end? I can press left or right to change the charge current and that seems to work OK. The manual says to press Enter to stop the charge but it doesn't. I've tried pushing buttons, holding buttons, using the ignition button, but haven't found the answer.

I could stop the charge at the charger end OK and the bike does release the charge cable. However I'd like to know how to stop the charge at the bike end in case the charger crashes and stops responding.

If you press the starter button while the active key is within a meter or so, it will turn the bike on, disconnecting the charger.

If the bike is finished charging all you need to do is turn it on to unlock the charge port latch.

If you want to stop the charge process mid charge you will need to key or or press and hold the keyless button for 1-2 seconds.
At the bottom of the dashboard the lock icon should change from white to red and the message "press mode to unlock" will appear. Center press mode (left control) twice, the 2nd time is to confirm the command.

Charge will stop and when the green icon on the right side of the dash turns off the charge cable will be unlocked and can be removed.

Thanks for asking the question and for those that answered. I am waiting on my Eva Ribelle to arrive, ordered 7 weeks ago and believe it has finally made it off the ship in CA, so keeping fingers crossed it will be up in OR soon.

Not wishing to hijack this thread but how long have others had to wait from order to delivery?

I think you've officially hijacked the thread.  My Ego RS+ tricolor is on the same boat as yours and I've waited about the same amount of time.  I believe they are in Port of Oakland now going through customs.  Should be a couple more weeks.

Thank-you. I'd plugged it in to charge with the bike already on - maybe that had confused it.

There are two more methods to unlock the charge cable for keyless versions:
1 - standard: Press and hold the ign button for 10secs, enter the PIN to start keyless (works with FW .38 & above). It will start the bike as if you had you fob with you. Of cause, this assumes that you have set a PIN initially.
2 - emergency: Push the metal tab *gently* next to the DC connector. It will manually unlock but pushing the tab you move the unlock servo motor. This method bears the risk of damaging the servo gear, however I have used this method a few times. Tested for the European CCS/Type2 connectors, I don’t know how NA connectors are locked and if this method is even applicable.
Both methods works for both AC and DC.
