Title: Access Denial and VPN
Post by: MIKKW on November 30, 2021, 01:55:46 AM
A few months back I subscribed to a Virtual Privacy Network. Since then I have been running into issues with it. This site also suddenly started denying me access today.  I rebooted both the website window and the browser to no effect. I finally rebooted the computer, killing the automatic engagement of the VPN. That worked.
Does anyone know what is up with this?  I use a VPN to help protect myself from the data miners. Now I am constantly having to push through Captcha and similar shields just to get to the desired website, sometimes being forced to shut down the VPN protection altogether.
I take this to mean one of at least two possibilities: Either VPNs are a tool of Satan (OK, that's a comedic jab, please don't go all religious on me) and the hackers are using VPNs to hide their nefarious activities, OR Satan's first cousins, the data miners don't like it when you protect yourself so they engage in denial-of-service tactics to force you to drop your Shields.  Maybe there are other possibilities but I am temporarily out of evil metaphors.
Seriously, though, this is a major PITA and I was wondering if anyone else has this issue or if there is a way to access this site but still protect my privacy.

Your VPN provider's address range may have been blocked by the company that hosts this site (bluehost).  It sounds like your VPN provider is being canceled by hosters/CDNs/etc. I know they don't block all VPNs in general because it works from my private VPN. But untraceable anonymity has been gradually disappearing from the Internet.
