When I check the Zero website about the Cypher III + upgrade next spring for my 2020 SR/S Premium, the 10% faster charge option is available but with a Dealer install note. Since it is purely a software/firmware upgrade and that a new FW20 for the MBB has been announced, do you think the whole upgrade could be done by ourselves or you will have to go to the dealer?

It's quite possibly the case they encrypt the upgrade which requires a secret password to decrypt it that only dealers will have.
Cas :)

It's also possible a firmware module in the BMS may need to be installed since apparently you don't have to replace the entire battery...

Near as I can tell reading about Cypher III, Zero has installed batteries with increased capacity, written software to limit it's use, then are charging extra to use what you already have.
Apparently Cypher III is not a free standing add-on feature like self-driving or a radio or something, just a limit on battery charging that is controlled by software without the 'upgrade.' Range is one of the complaints I have with my Zero, and to reduce capacity that is already there to charge extra to enable, is not what I would consider good business.
