Does anyone know what Zero is calling the color of the 2022 SR/S?

I'm calling it "disappointing". Nothing says "This is our top end Flagship bike" like a dirty eggshell color.

If this dealer ad is correct, the gray color is called: Aileron
Which of course isn't a color description but rather a noun primarily of an aircraft part.

I hear for an additional $2,499 in the Cypher Store they will unlock the ability to peel off the grey color and reveal a more vibrant color underneath.

But with the current supply chain issues, it will take you 6 months to get those components shipped from Italy. That's about how long it took our last order of the industrial products we buy from Italy to finally be delivered.

Things sure can come fast from the UK. I ordered a brake caliper for my Royal Enfield on Monday and I just received a message from DHL Express that it would be delivered today. Of course, the part was in stock when I ordered and the seller packed it up and shipped it out the same day. But still, those airplanes sure fly fast. :)

Flying single small parts isn't as effected as ocean freight. We had 3 pallets of goods coming in for our last shipment. It took 2 weeks for the container to be unloaded and the pallets transferred from one warehouse to another one 300 miles away.
I assume Energica ships bikes via ocean freight in containers.

I watched a documentary on the Discovery Channel titled the "Supply Chain Crisis" last night and of course, there have been a lot of articles in my newspaper regarding supply bottlenecks this year, so I can believe it.

I think the SRS would look sweet in a US flag tricolor livery, similar to a VFR anniversary color scheme.

I'd never ride anything that's any variation of black or gray, particularly not matte. Beyond considering it ugly, I think it's unsafe -- absolutely horrible for visibility,
and a dealbreaker for me. Only bright colors need apply..
Even more so for helmets.

Same here. I don't understand the desire for black matte helmets and cars. Also why when I bought my 2017 FXS with terribly faded gray body panels, I painted them bright white. The bike is far more visible now and far better looking than any other FXS, even new. At least in my opinion.

I'll never understand why manufacturers think exciting motorcycles need BORING colors. My 2009 TMAX was bright yellow with graphics. Since then, they've only been available in shades of gray and/or black. WTF?? The most exciting sports scooter ever sold in boring, BARELY visible colors??
Since Yamaha has steadfastly REFUSED to import that scooter here into the States, it's a moot point anyway. But now Zero is doing the same thing. I LOVED the bright yellow color of my 2016 S model and was upset that the only color available when I replaced it in 2018 was that silver/gray color. It's only gone downhill from there.
At least the SR/F is available in bright red, but why oh WHY is the SR/S only available in those boring colors for 2022? For God's sakes, don't they know you're supposed to cover that primer with an actual COLOR??? Even last year's blue would be preferable!
Does anyone from Zero read these posts? Aren't they aware of how much most of us HATE their color schemes??

I have to disagree. I loved my matte black FXS. White would not do it for me. I've now got a red SR/F and like that too, but personally I find there's nothing worse than a nice motorbike painted like it's a garish cheap BMX.
It might make sense to have each model available in one bright and in one subtle colour to cover most tastes.

I too really liked the yellow color of my 2014 Zero S. My current 2018 S is silver, which is OK, but it does tend to blend into the fog that I have to ride in during the summer. I prefer bright colors that attract attention - even "arrest me red". ;)
