Title: Whole new website
Post by: NEW2elec on October 13, 2021, 10:06:11 PM
So Damon.com just got a big upgrade.  Much more information and specs and some short riding clips.

Confirmed Level 1,2 and 3 charging.  The bike can video your ride.  It's possible to use it to power your house.
Plus more features and a closer to production ready design.

Enjoy.

I found it odd that at the start of the promo stuff the bike had a double sided swingarm and by the end it's gone single sided. When even that sort of broad feature is inconsistent it really makes it seem like they haven't got very far yet.

It also looks like every other ICE sports bike out there. I'm no fan of crazy pointless futuristic looks, but you need something to make it stand out a bit. Just noticed it has an oil filler cap on the clutch cover too.  ::)

The Peninsula looks different than I remember it. Maybe they were actually trying to draw the coastline to Monterrey, which is in Mexico.

Looks like the Premier version of the bike is single-sided swingarm and the rest are double sided ones.

Shayan is correct.  The Premier has a single sided swing arm while the other 3 versions are double sided.
Why would there be a clutch lever with no transmission?  That will be the rear brake lever and what you see is the brake fluid reservoir.

And that's how the peninsula looks... Or are you complaining about the artistic rendering, which isn't really important?

When I go to the team section things are sparce compared to before.  There were links to linkeden and another perhaps instagram accounts of the various team members.  Perhaps I found links that way that were not approved?  Or not approved any more.  Wasn't there a little one or two paragraph biography and other enterprises they are involved in.  Like maybe they are not full time?

What dies this mean?  In the Inverter section
Liquid cooled, fail operational 2 x 80 kw architecture
I can't copy and paste it had to type it in.

How much does an 7.2 kW level 2 charger weigh, approx?

Yes the old resume descriptions aren't there at this time.  I guess they feel it's more important that they are at Damon then their past positions.
There are more team members listed.  Well executive type team members are listed.  I've interacted with several regular workers.

They have a nice new HQ, they have a factory site, they have what is either a Gamma or Delta level bike.
Now comes working out the manufacturing process and setting up service center agreements.

Fran K are you trying find some dark hidden secret on the website?
Try to keep an open mind.

The intresting stuff is articles elsewhere, not at Damon.com but with source of info from Damon.

The new website does convey more details,

The battery is now sealed to IP67 and looks smaller area.  Click on the word battery and it shows a circle where it is.  And how many 21mmX70mm  cylinder shaped cells.

6 phase 18000 rpm presumably at 200 mph,  3 c discharge rate  How many cells how many amps what voltage do you think it is possible?

I'm not saying the Damon would have a clutch. Quite the opposite. It shouldn't.

I'm talking about this bit of their rendered image. It appears to be a standard ICE engine wet clutch cover with oil filler cap. I suspect it's just lifted from a 3D model of an ICE bike and left in accidentally. It's just another indication that there's not as much progress as they'd have you believe.

Fred, that? That's (likely) where the reduction gear for the motor get it's oil/coolant.  If it uses the exact same filler cap as most other bikes and I can pick one up anywhere, great.
I thought you were talking about the handle bars.

Morgan, one of those cargo ships stuck out in the Bay is full of "I Told You So" the bulk price was so good I just got a whole ship full.  Once it docks I'll let you know.    ;)

How does the V2G work? What kind of bidirectional charger is it compactible with?

Standard CCS just goes into charging mode, and the charger handles the direction of the power flow.  I don't know that there are competing standards currently.

It's not V2G(Grid) it's V2H(Home).
You would need to have your house setup wired like it needs to be for a Tesla Wall unit.
The bike has a 6.6kw inverter.

The one video I watched on the early Tesla Walls showed you could only use it while the grid power was on.
They later had to install a safety cut off to keep linemen from getting zapped when they think the line is dead so you could use it as backup power during storms and such.

They always had the cut-off.  They just had to be allowed to use it.
