Title: More EV battery recycling news
Post by: Richard230 on September 24, 2021, 03:40:58 AM
Here is some interesting news regarding Ford and Redwood Materials building a facility to recycle Ford EV batteries. Let's hope more manufacturers establish recycling programs besides Ford. This is something that must be done if electric vehicles are not to result in both landfill pollution and the problems associated with mining lithium and other battery materials. In addition, I hope that someone also establishes a recycling plant that will recycle all types of lithium batteries and not just ones sold by Ford or another automotive brand. Attached is page 1 of the article that was in the business section of my newspaper today.

...And this is exactly why it's so important that JB Straubel left Tesla to do this.  He couldn't do this deal if his company were 'Tesla'.  Not because Elon wouldn't let him, but because other companies would see him as competition instead of supplier.
