Here is more news regarding the Sondors Metacycle. It looks like they will be coming to the market earlier than previously anticipated and are offering some nice options for the open space in the frame: https://electrek.co/2021/07/18/closer-look-at-motor-behind-the-5000-sondors-metacycle-electric-motorcycle/

It's so cool, I wish it was released quickly. I must be the first to experience it.
-
I will show some interest when I see an indepentant test in real world at an achieved speed in excess of 100kph. Even with a hub motor.

Here is a interesting Revzilla article about a fellow who placed a $5,000 deposit on a Sondors Metacycle and then backed out of the deal. He explains why he gave up on the Metacycle: https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/why-i-put-down-5000-on-a-sondors-electric-motorcycle-and-then-backed-out

After quickly browsing a number of tests by owners & others, none of the promised specs eventuated.
Top sustained cruising speed is ~60mph, top speed 75-80mph (depending very much on rider weight).
0-60mph Acceleration is 11 to 16sec depending on rider weight, not 6sec; range is ~60mi in ECO mode (which limits speed to 62mph) at an average of 45mph. Curb weight is ~330lbs, not ~200. Battery is too heavy for most owners to take up stairs to charge (56lbs) every day, and requires ~10min of removing covers & Torx screws which won't stand up to frequent removal/tightening.
Not surprised at any of this. Oh, and price is now $6500, not $5000, and deliveries 2 years late at least.
If it proves reliable over several years, might be still worth it for someone who needs a 40-50 daily mileage commute as long as there's only brief freeway stretches, but personally I'd probably prefer a used Zero or an Evoke with better specs.

I had to file a claim with my bank to get my deposit back nobody from the company would answer the phone or respond to emails not a good way to do business!

That doesn't sound very promising. :(
BTW, that battery removal and weight is going to be a real issue after a while. Taking the battery in and out of the bike every day is likely going to either break something or wear out the battery housing and connectors.

Fortnine just did a "review" and a ride. As usual it is worth watching.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVjrt-JCKLg

Not impressed when the author gets such an important datum as price wrong (the Metacycle starts at $6500, not $5000).
And Sondor's purchase agreement is remarkably consumer-hostile (wouldn't be legal in my country).

Pretty sure that $5000 was a dig at the original price it was offered since the price and bike weight went up up up and the quality/features went down down down.

There's no hint that it was a dig or any kind of irony or sarcasm on the video or YouTube page, AFAICS.
I suspect the FortNine guy was misled by Sondors' website: On their main product page for the Metacycle they list a few specs, but not price; the include a quote from a Jalopnik article from over a year and a half ago that mentions the $5000 price. Only if you follow the "buy" link do they list the real price.
Misleading and scummy, just like their crowdfunding specs for the bicycles.

FWIW, my friend TRIED to put a deposit on one when the offer was first made. TWO of his credit card companies refunded his money almost immediately informing him of the company's reputation! He decided against trying a third time. They did him a favor!

Revzilla reviews the Sondors electric motorcycle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqBy8uD6Qc0
This is not a bad review. The rider talks about a number of issues that a prospective owner should know before buying one. BTW, the spoked/tubeless wheel design is quite unusual.

It is a really favourable review really. For the price it's currently unbeatable.

The rims are different, post labeled reply 10 vs 12. Which makes me think about the deal of pay first and take delivery from a trucking company. How bad is the weight distribution front back and how much worse does the hub motor make things. Mass centralization vs 2023 norms. Quiet in Richard's video seems to have engine type noise in the later one.
The fenders are not for the enviroments I would use the bike.
three things can overheat I only watched the post 10 vid for a significant time, hub motor , battery, controler. Some video creaters on you tube and the like use heat sensing and displaying tools.

Here is the latest Sondors MetaCycle review article. This one mentions a failed IPO and employee layoffs, before launching into the ride review: https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/2022-sondors-metacycle-electric-motorcycle-review

Sounds like the ideal "city bike" someone can replace a scooter with but not ride for real because of the seat, fairings, footpegs, and range. The sport mode is an interesting twist but you should be able to do it as much as you want while agreeing to a heat warning and the controller may limit you until it cools down if it gets hot.
