Title: 2021 Volcon Grunt an electric Rokon
Post by: Richard230 on July 17, 2021, 03:59:25 AM
The electric 2021 Volcon Grunt looks very similar to the Rokon, without 2-wheel drive or hollow wheels, but a lot more power and at a decent price: https://www.motorbiscuit.com/is-the-2021-volcon-grunt-the-electric-rokon-trail-breaker/

I see that Rokon still exists and still sells 2WD ICE motorcycles...
I would have expected an all-terrain electric motorcycle to be 2WD -- it's much easier to add a front hub motor to a RWD e-motorcycle than with an ICE drivetrain, and the low-RPM torque is an excellent fit for such bikes, which emphasize work capacity over speed.

I thought the same thing regarding the advantage of having a hub motor in the front wheel.  But perhaps the problem of coordinating the power of the front wheel with that of the rear wheel was more than Volcan wanted to tackle with their first vehicle. Maybe the will give that a try in the future.  ???
