Title: Electric airplane wars
Post by: Richard230 on April 07, 2021, 10:44:17 PM
Will lawsuits never end? Reading the attached article is making electric airplane development sound like more of a fertile field for investor money opportunities and technology-grabbing lawsuits against competitors, some of which appear to have no assets and likely only computer graphic YouTube videos of their proposed electric airplanes. That is one way to stifle a new technology. Bring on the lawyers.  :(

Ehh, it's happened before, that engineers took copies they shouldn't have.  Only way to know for sure is force discovery.

I did notice that in the article and if that is what actually happened then those engineers should be brought up on both criminal and civil charges. But I am not so sure that the solution is to sue the smaller company into oblivion unless it can be shown that they were aware what of happened when they hired the engineers and sanctioned it.   ???

One thing that isn't slowing down in the U.S. are lawsuits and lawyer commercials I am constantly hearing lawyer commercials on both the radio and TV. They all say the same thing:  If you have been in an accident that was not your fault, come see us and we will tell you how much your case is worth. No doubt there are similar promotions aimed at the high tech industry that is trying to be innovative and creative while their competitors are looking closely at them to see if they can find something to sue them about and keep them from getting their product to market. There must be better ways to solve issues like this.

Criminal charges can only be brought with evidence.  The only way to get evidence is to have a lawsuit.
