Hey guys, I finally made the decision and put my deposit down for the Energica Eva Ribelle! I'm no stranger to EV's though as I've already swapped my ICE car over to a Tesla. As such, I have a Gen 2 Tesla Wall Connector running off of 240 volts @ 60 amps, which allows my car to charge at 48 amps giving my Model 3P 11.5 kW of juice. As best as I can tell, the TeslaTap can be used to adapt it to the Ribelle.
I have a couple of questions on that:
1) Which TeslaTap model should I get? (TeslaTap 40 AMP, TeslaTap 50 AMP, TeslaTap MINI 40 AMP, TeslaTap MINI 60 AMP)
2) How fast of a charge will I get out of this?
Looking forward to joining all of you - The fine folks at Energica are estimating a June delivery. Hope I don't go crazy waiting!

The Energicas' onboard charger is 3kW, so that's the most you'll ever get out of it. I personally think the TeslaTap Mini is the best because it's so portable. The mini 40 amp will be more than sufficient.

All your questions can be figured out by simple math.
3,000 watt charger in the bike, 240 VAC from your Wall Connector. 3000 / 240=12.5 amps or above is all you need. So that means the cheapest Tesla Tap you can find will be more than what you need.
How long to charge? More math. Somewhat longer than:
22.5 KWH battery / 3 KW=7.5 hours from 0SOC to 100 SOC. But it will be more like nine hours in reality. Losses is heat, and charge rate is slower near the ends. OTOH, you will usually not be down to zero SOC, so the 7.5 hours will be more accurate in more cases anyway. Also, the 22.5 KWH is not the usable capacity. IAC, expect most of your home charges to take less than 8 hours. Around the same as your Tesla home charging.
CCS charging will take minutes instead of hours, of course. Then you will be charging around the same KW as the battery in KWH. A full charge in less than an hour, from 0 to 100%. in reality, most of your charges will be less than a half hour, I would guess. Less if you don't need the last 15% or so.

18.9kWh nominal means the 3kW onboard will take 6.3 hours assuming it's at full capacity the whole time.
The max amperage request is 75 from a DC station. The bottom end of the pack's voltage is around 280 meaning it'll start pulling around 21kW and, if it did not exceed thermal limits, the top end would be around 24kW charge rate. Expect a full charge to be close to an hour.

Thank you both. I'll likely be charging at home mostly - I've got plenty of Solar to keep the house, car, and bike juiced up and if I do get caught somewhere away from home, the good news is there are a number of DC Fast Charging stations around where I'd be riding if I really need it.
