Just got home from scheduled maintaince on my Zero S 2019. When I plug in to charge the main breaker of my house trips. When I measure the pins on the OBC they are a dead short. Bike was charging at the dealer during maintenance, what is this weird timing...
Is this a common way for the OBC to die?

I did hear about OBC's dying within a year.... but i tought they updated it using some ferrite cores

I have ferrite cores on the leads of the charger :( I have 25000km on my bike (a little more than one year of ownership)

The ferrite cores have nothing to do with reliability. But it does show it is a later model. But perhaps that is the only difference.
Those cores are to stop the chopper circuit noise from the charger getting into the AC cord. Part 15 FCC compliance (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Title_47_CFR_Part_15)is all that it is, for the spurious emissions.

Is it a CB that is tripping or a GFI on a CB? It could be normal for the bike AC inlet to measure as a dead short on an ohmmeter. I cannot test mine as I am 100 miles away from both of my Zeros. Often good AC circuits will test as a dead short when a DC ohmmeter is used.
But if it is really a CB that trips and those CSs are not the GFI type my opinion is the timing was a coincidence and your dealer had nothing to do with it and you do need a new OBC. They are not repairable. And they are not cheap.
But if only the GFI of the CB is tripping, there is still some hope that it can be dealt with. I can explain later, if that is your only issue.

No it’s the main breaker of the house. Here in Belgium we have seperate gfci’s. But that did not trip.

Then it sounds like you need a new OBC. Unfortunately, as they are not cheap.
But there are other methods to charge up the bike, such as using Zero's Delta Q-chargers.
BTW, is Belgium's standard electricity for houses 240 VAC? If so, you probably want a faster charger anyway.

I have a charge tank that still charges the bike. I used to use both chargers together. I’m gonna phone my dealer tomorrow morning. Warranty should cover this but this is rather unsettling. Such a bad way to go (not gracefully). And so soon.

Yeah, SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supplies) as Zero and all other EV's use, can crap out at very random times that have nothing to do with age. Lot of parts in them. I have been lucky as both of my Zero OBCs are still working like new.
Is it 240 VAC there?

Yes 220-240v herein Belgium.
