I bet that is not the case in the U.S.  In fact, I wonder if anyone is even collecting information regarding the sales of electric motorcycles here?   ???

San Jose BMW (the closest Zero Dealer) was selling bikes and Zeros s quick as they could get them in stock.  They now have more sales people selling e-bikes than motorcycles (tho Zeros are on the motorcycle side).

Yeah! I did my part!  :D (wasn't counted though, my country is too small).

Without the actual numbers on sales & marketshare, it's hard to say whether this is meaningful -- an increase in the numbers of the small, 50cc-equivalent e-mopeds & scooters isn't surprising or that interesting...

I've only found numbers for Germany and 2019: https://de.statista.com/statistik/daten/studie/1093872/umfrage/neuzulassungen-von-elektrokraftraedern-in-deutschland/#statisticContainer

It says that 1700 electric motorcycles have been registered. I assume this is the L3a class and therefore also includes scooters with a max speed above 45 km/h.

Electric scooters and mopeds are interesting to me... probably the future for the yoof as well. And indeed everyone, as our worlds are probably going to get a bit smaller over the next couple of decades, as global environmental catastrophe slowly unfolds.

You misunderstood me  :).
"Not interesting" because I consider them a done deal.
Many if not most Chinese cities already banned ICE mopeds (with highly visible difference in pollution) several years ago, and I fully expect large cities in Western countries to follow suit in 3-4 years. No further improvement in motors, $/kWh or kWh/kg needs to happen for them to make sense for urban transport usage, and within 1-2 years, for (sub)urban as well -- including short-ish motorway speed stretches (125cc-equivalent).

The inexplicable is that none of the large established manufacturers of 2-wheeler outside China (esp. India) is yet churning them out in large numbers.

The Japanese manufacturers are behaving essentially like all the other Grand Incumbent Auto Companies, fiddling while Rome burns and Tesla capers about amongst the ruins throwing tomatoes at them.

Well, I don't really care whatever others do, I do like what I have.
