Title: Zero One e-scooter
Post by: Richard230 on January 26, 2021, 08:35:25 PM
It appears that the "Zero" name has been borrowed by a startup in Germany that has developed a prototype scooter with an interesting design. Looks to be powered by a hub motor too. (Surprise!  ;)  )

And if you are looking for an electric motorcycle company to invest in, Amber Automotive is looking for you. They have developed the Amber Alpha electric motorcycle with an 8 kWh battery pack that they say has a range of 225 km (estimated) and a top speed of 165 kWh (estimated) from its 35 kW motor.

Sigh, more range bullshit. The formula is pretty much worked out by now, and it seems to be KWh x 5 = miles for the larger bikes down to about KWh x 10 for the smaller bikes, more or less, so anything outside of this range has to be viewed with extreme scepticism. Looks nice though.

Cas :)

Really, they had to call it Zero? Besides Zero Motorcycles (https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/), there is the whole line of ZERO Scooters (https://zeroelectricscooter.com/collections/the-zero-scooter-collection). Both brands in my garage already.

Isn't there also a Zero model of some ICE brand motorcycle?

The word Zero is all over the products and brands. Coke Zero, Pepsi Zero Sugar, etc. These companies should use obscure words as their product and company names. See Google as an example. Who knew that a google was before Google?

Coke Zero is at least not a motorcycle and it starts with 'Coke' not 'Zero'.

I agree completely. The factories keep on throwing us these irrealistic numbers obtained in PERFECT conditions and ingenious calculations. Really annoying!

Actually, the original term is "googol", which long predates the company (coined in 1920 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googol)).

I recall the term, most commonly in math books in the derived "googolplex" , equal to 10googol, in the 1980s.

The mis-spelling "google" in the company name is  supposedly accidental (https://www.webcitation.org/68ubHzYs7?url=http://graphics.stanford.edu/~dk/google_name_origin.html).
