Questions:
My understanding is that DC fast charging is hard on batteries. I have and Energica and the manufacturer recommends only occassional DC fast charging, and also stopping at 80% when DC fast charging.
Would DC charging at a lower rate like this unit produces (10kw tops) not have these issues?
Has anyone used one of these units?

It's not DC charging that's the issue (all batteries are charged by DC, AC charging is called such because an AC input goes to the DC charger built into the bike, what we call DC charging just means an external DC charger is used), it's the charging rate. If you could turn that charger down to whatever wattage the built in charger is then the "wear" to the battery would be the same. I don't know what charge rate Energica recommends but I'd imagine anything below 1C is more than fine (Energicas range from 13 to 21 kW/h iirc so 10kW would be fine).

Yeah, most is correlated with heat, so you'd want to control for the internal temperature of the battery.
